| Anniversaries are usually a joy to celebrate. I have mixed emotions about celebrating our 5th anniversary, though I am pleased God has brought us this far. My first emotion is one of sadness because of all the suffering of people that have needed our ministry. We have had the opportunity to help thousands of victims of disaster and poverty. Each time we see the needs it brings tears to our staff and breaks our hearts because of their pain. |

What a great year WCN had in Honduras. WCN had 5 teams travel to El Progresso, Honduras to distribute F2F food boxes, clothes and toys. There were 2300 families on our distribution list. This year we had 120 people from 11 churches in North America participate in the distribution of 2300 F2F boxes, clothes and toys. Just 5 years ago there were only 14 people from 2 churches distributing 478 F2F boxes. God has surely given the increase. |

The disasters of 2004 and 2005 were devastating. The repeated hurricanes in Florida in 2004 were like none before in terms of numbers and scope. Then came the Tsunami and earthquakes of 2005 in Asian. Many continue to suffer from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We had major tornadoes in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee near the end of the year in 2005. So, why not be better prepare in 2006. We conducted a Disaster Response Information conference in June of 2006. We were prepared. Praise God, nothing of the scale of the past two years happened. There were disasters to be sure but nothing that required our immediate action. We kept in touch with other organizations to see how we might help but there were never requests because the scope of the situations were handled locally. We continue to be ready. |

WCN partnered with Tim Gresham Ministries of Tipton Indiana to provide a bunkhouse trailer for relief workers in City Park in New Orleans. Tim has been working in New Orleans since a few days after the hurricane. Tim and other ministry partners have been providing food, clothes, and spiritual ministry to thousands of displaced residences of N.O. Hundreds of relief workers have passed through City Park and many have been hosted by Tim. Most of the workers spend two weeks performing clean up and repairs of the many homes in N.O. They also serve on evangelism teams that return to the neighborhoods where they have worked to share their faith with the residences. |

Hurricane Katrina brought havoc to the Gulf Coast. Forecasters said last year was a terrible year for hurricanes but 2005 was equally devastating. New Orleans was virtually destroyed and thousands of people were displaced. World Compassion Network (WCN) responded within 4 days with a load of relief supplies. Hurricane Rita followed Katrina and devastated Lake Charles. Again WCN responded... |
