Are you ready?

Although the time between April and July is often considered Tornado Season, a tornado can strike any state in any month of the year. With an average of more than 1,200 tornadoes annually, the U.S. has more tornadoes than any other country. Preparation is key to staying safe and minimizing impacts. Some tips include: 1. Check your forecast regularly for possible severe weather events, 2. Have a communications plan for your family to be able to locate each other and know where to go for safety, 3. Pick a safe place in your home- basement, or storm cellar, or an interior room on the lowest level away from windows, 4. Have three days of emergency supplies on hand for your family if power is lost or you must leave your damaged home.
